I received an email yesterday from one of our guests, Rene Geskes who has signed up with a group of 11 swimmers for our 2011 Hellespont tour where we swim from Europe to Asia. What makes Rene and his fellow travellers remarkable is that they are hoping to raise an incredible €50,000 for charity in the process!
After a friend was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as ALS and Lou Gehrig's Disease), this group of friends, armed with a Country Life article on the Hellespont swimmer decided this was the perfect charity challenge and they booked up. We wish them loads of luck with their cause and the swim itself!
