Congratulations to Michael and Suzanne on their recent SwimTrek marriage engagement. The happy couple were SwimTrekking in Greece this September when Michael popped the big question. Above is a picture of Michael and Suzanne with their 3D engagement card/t-shirt made by their guide Trish which reinacted the event.
Michael had been planning the engagement for some time and read that the Keros to Koufonissi crossing was a major highlight on the Greek trip. A lot of things fell in his favour. Due to weather conditions the group did this significant crossing on Michael’s birthday, September 19th. That morning Suzanne graduated to the fast pink group but to Michael’s luck she decided to stay with the yellow group for this swim.
During a drink/rest stop the yellow group decided to sing Happy Birthday to Michael. He then whispered to Suzanne in the middle of the Aegean Sea in 40m deep water, ‘Will you marry me?’ to which she said a delighted yes. Cheers and congratulations and plenty of radio communication with well wishes then erupted from all groups. Their guide Ricky then shared the red love heart sweets he had been treasuring in his bag.
