Tour Highlights
Relax and unwind with a combination of yoga and swimming in Montenegro's local waters.
Discover hidden coves, and practice yoga in the presence of the sheer mountains that surround you.
Enjoy mindful exploration in nature with likeminded people and stay at a restored former palace with views of the tranquil fjords.
Montenegro is one of the few locations in the world where you can swim in three different types of open water in less than a week. On this YogaSwim holiday, you’ll have the chance to balance out leaping into fjords, rivers, and the sea with some grounding Yoga sessions focused on breathing techniques and transferrable strength to take into the water with you. All the while, we explore the spectacular scenery and rich history that Montenegro has to offer.
Discover hidden coves, tranquil lakes, and beautiful coastline as we take in some of Montenegro's finest landscapes from a truly unique perspective. With imposing mountains that soar upwards from the fjords, this is a unique opportunity to stretch out your strokes and drink in a backdrop of natural beauty unique to this historic corner of Europe. From a swim in the famous 'blue cave' of Plava Špilja, to snaking meanders across the Bay of Kotor, this trip is filled with amazing swimming experiences. The memories will stay with you long after your last stroke in the water.
At the end of each day, relax and unwind in a refurbished former palace in the historical town of Perast. The beautiful Mrshe Palace offers stunning accommodation, with a wide range of room options and open-air terrace.
Experience practicing yoga whilst over looking the breath-taking bay of Kotor with it's contrasts of luscious greenery and sheer cliff faces, all towering over the bay, makes for unforgettable Yoga sessions.
Who is this trip for?
This trip is designed for swimmers who enjoy yoga, or who want to explore the benefits of yoga and how it naturally complements and enhances our swimming. Swims are shorter than an average SwimTrek Trip. So, if you prefer to cover more kilometres per day then you may like to explore the alternative option of our: Crete Discovery Trip
Swimmers do not require open water experience but should be capable of completing the average swim distance and average daily swim distance (over the course of two swims) prior to the start of the trip.
The average swim distance is around 1½km. The average daily swim distance is around 3km.
No prior experience of yoga is required.
We have given this trip a ‘Leisurely’ grading designed for people who want to swim at a more relaxed pace and enjoy the scenery.
Why yoga and swimming?
Yoga and swimming are a perfect combination. For swimmers, yoga offers both physical and mental benefits. Yoga increases awareness to breathing, develops strength and increases mobility, especially if you can work yoga into your daily routine. Through meditation, relaxation and stretching, yoga has incredible restorative qualities, relaxing the nervous system and muscular tension. It can help you centre and focus, and to find the perfect rhythm for your swims.
